Huize Alberic is a delightful culinary sensation in Kalmthout. Here, you are hosted in the former home of blacksmith and artist Alberic Plettinck. During the renovation, Bram and Ann kept the homely atmosphere of the 1920s in mind. The original wooden herringbone floor and beautiful stained glass windows are some of the preserved features. Huize Alberic has been clearly and lovingly restored. In good weather, you can enjoy the spacious and peaceful terrace at the back. Bram and Ann already have an impressive track record. Bram can reference stints at Hof van Cleve, Kasteel Withof, De Godevaart, and Park West. Ann brings a wealth of professional experience, having worked at places like De Koopvaardij, De Zilverden, and Sir Anthony Van Dijck.
They deliberately chose a limited menu with a focus on fresh, seasonal ingredients. The à la carte menu is complemented by a 3-course (€62) or 4-course (€74) menu. This monthly menu can be paired with wines or beers. Whether from the menu or the specials, the main ingredient is always central and served with a bistronomic touch. Start with, for example, scallop carpaccio, celeriac, and spring onion, followed by aged entrecôte, lamb’s lettuce, and pommes dauphines. End beautifully with a surprise of lemon, hazelnut, and honey.
