Top Bistronomie!
Hidden like a gem among the houses in the center of Boechout, ‘Jacqueline’ offers an honest and pure bistronomy cuisine. The former butcher shop is named after chef Evelien Swiers’ grandmother. The authenticity of the old butcher shop has been partially preserved, and in the front space, there is a kitchen with a marble cooling counter. At the back, there is a small, fresh dining area. The light furniture with a Scandinavian look adds a modern touch. Partner Raf Rombouts ensures jovial service and assists in selecting wines and artisanal beers.
Evelien Swiers brings a bistronomic flair with beautifully decorated plates and natural dishes. You can also enjoy a refined 4-course menu (€70). For example, Evelien presents her version of haddock with scorzonera. Another brilliant dish features ground wild chicory paired with citrus and chamomile, while a piece of guinea fowl is enhanced by the deep flavor of radicchio and Jerusalem artichoke. For dessert, you can indulge in an incredibly original plate of chicory with apple and/or the famous cheeses by Van Tricht.
All praise for host Raf. The wines he meticulously selects to match each dish add an extra dimension, spot on.
Jacqueline brings flavorful dishes with plenty of vegetables in a contemporary style! It is well-deserved that Evelien received a score of 13.5/20 from Gault Millau.
Jacqueline: Passion and pride!
