SALTO is a small neo-bistro located in the center of Lier, just 100 meters from the Saint Gummarus Church. The name comes from the Italian expression “fare un salto,” which means “to drop by” or “pop in”… The idea behind it is that Salto is not a conventional restaurant but rather a low-threshold meeting place where everyone can easily “drop by” for a pleasant date or chat with friends, accompanied by a good dish and an entertaining bottle of wine or beer.
At Salto, the focus is on the product and personal service. The dishes consist of uncomplicated combinations of seasonal and top-quality ingredients, with the absolute focus on taste.
Natania has made it her mission to personally welcome each guest and make them feel at ease and at home from the very first moment. Our service is friendly yet professional. To highlight the concept of coziness and a lively atmosphere, we emphasize sharing dishes on our menu.
Salto also boasts one of the most extensive wine lists in the area, with over 250 references and a focus on “honest” wines and natural wines, from both classic and new terroirs. Natania and Joris have been passionate about wine for over 20 years, and recently, in addition to Salto, they also started their own wine import business, a side activity called ‘Piquette,’ which will bring original wines from all over Europe to Belgium to introduce them to everyone. Initially, sales will take place online and at Salto itself, or at events. But the latest news… In the summer of 2021, the wine bar will open at Stadshaven in the city park of Lier! Cheers!
