It’s October 2020 when Bert Coopman and Deborah Naert open the doors of their no-nonsense restaurant Maison Noire in Izegem to the public. Opening a brand-new restaurant in the middle of the COVID pandemic takes courage, enthusiasm, perseverance… and success, as Gault Millau awarded Maison Noire a very nice mention in their new guide last year.
Behind the white facade, a very warm and inviting interior was created, perfectly matching the concept of “casual relaxed gastronomy.” At Maison Noire, you can enjoy an accessible lunch and/or dinner, either as a set menu or à la carte. All of this is paired with expertly selected wines or specialty beers.
Chef Bert ensures a fresh, seasonal menu where high-quality ingredients always take center stage. We are particularly delighted by the oven-baked bone marrow with smoked coarse salt, beef cannelloni, and brioche. Or what about a “good old-school” dish with veal kidneys, mustard, tarragon baugé, and cream… or, if you’re a lobster fan, this is a must-visit spot. These are just a few creations from a very varied selection. Hostess Deborah is praised for her extremely friendly service. She aims to offer every guest a memorable experience, and she certainly succeeds with flying colors!
That Izegem embraced Maison Noire from day one is no surprise. Additionally, the restaurant is easily accessible, has parking facilities, and when the weather is nice, the cozy terrace is the perfect place to relax. Ca vaut le détour! (It’s worth the detour!)
