In a short period, Fou d’O has become an established name in the culinary scene of Ghent. The restaurant was founded by owner Alex Maes in 2011, and Alex chose to focus on a bistronomic approach. Fou d’O is located in a stylishly renovated villa overlooking the Leie river. The large terrace by the water is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful in Ghent, and on a sunny day, it’s a true delight to relax by the water. Guests can even dock their boats at the restaurant’s own private pier. The timeless interior, spacious parking, and stylish service are additional assets of Fou d’O that customers truly appreciate.
The cuisine is primarily Belgian-French and product-driven. Delicious fresh oysters, a classic sole meunière, freshly prepared steak tartare, or a beautiful chateaubriand—the menu is full of tasty classics. For those with little time, there are tapas, which can also be enjoyed at the bar. During lunch, there is also an interesting menu available for just €22.
Fou d’O is a place you’ll be happy to return to.
