Just a short walk from the station, on the ground floor of a stylish and old mansion, Bistro Vienna has been home to Bernard Van Den Driessche and his wife Connie Eeckman since 2006. After working at Villa Lorraine (Brussels) and Maison Du Boeuf, Bernard started his own venture here.
The interior is classy, and the charm of the mansion has been preserved. Black and gray tones dominate, while the wooden parquet flooring creates a warm atmosphere. A zebra and kudu on the wall watch over diners as they finish their meals. There is also a cozy terrace.
Bernard’s cooking style is influenced by French cuisine and is characterized by the use of top-quality ingredients such as scallops, king crab, etc. The menu is limited and mainly features classics like wild duck consommé, scallop carpaccio, filet pur with béarnaise, sashimi, and ribeye.
With dishes like red mullet and tom kha kai and sea bass with blackberries and jalapeños, the chef shows his ability to add an exotic twist to his creations.
In addition to the à la carte menu, there is also a three- and four-course menu (€50 and €67.5, including snacks) and a two-course lunch for €29.5. The wine list mainly features top wines from France, Spain, and Italy, but also includes selections from Austria, New Zealand, and more. Wines are available by the glass or bottle.
Recently, guests can also stay overnight in the B&B of the same name, located near the restaurant, completing the experience. The B&B offers four rooms.
Bistro Vienna offers classy bistronomy in the heart of Lokeren.
