Comptoir de l’Eau Vive is much more than just an exceptional gastro-bistro!
Top chef Pierre Résimont, known for his gastronomic restaurant l’Eau Vive, opened a more approachable bistro in Erpent, near Namur, in 2013. Comptoir de l’Eau Vive, a playful nod to its gastronomic sibling, is located in a modern building with equally modern and colorful interiors. Dining can be done at the ‘comptoir’ (bar) or at one of the small tables. Many of the ingredients on the menu are also available for purchase in the restaurant’s shop.
At Comptoir de l’Eau Vive, guests can choose from a selection of classic à la carte dishes, some seasonal suggestions, and two set menus. The classics include a freshly sliced beef tartare, ‘à la mama Résimont’ meatballs, and the authentic house-made Dame Blanche. For larger appetites, you can opt for the 3-course menu (39€), which features mainly seasonal dishes such as regional wild game or a fresh scallop carpaccio.
Michelin’s culinary guide highly values this address, awarding it a Bib Gourmand. Gault Millau’s colleagues already crowned Pierre as ‘Brasserie of the Year’ in 2013, and it now rightfully boasts 15 points.
