Brasserie Pakhuis has been a staple in the center of Ghent for many years. This former warehouse was transformed by architect Pinto into a cozy and warm restaurant. Here, you can truly experience the authentic brasserie atmosphere! The wow-effect definitely applies at this location. But there’s more to tell about Pakhuis.
Chef Koen Lefever, as the head of the kitchen, is the driving force behind the scenes. Quality and super fresh ingredients are the chef’s main principles. In addition to typical Belgian-French dishes, the oysters and seafood platters are real highlights. Be sure to taste the signature oysters ‘Kara Savi’ and ‘Verte des Bardières’, flavorful oysters specially cultivated for this restaurant! The dishes are pure in taste and beautifully presented.
Along with Dock’s Café and La Quincaillerie, Brasserie Pakhuis is also the owner of Le Devant, a farm in France where Bresse chickens, guinea fowl, Bayeux free-range pigs, and Hampshire Down lambs are raised for the various restaurants. This is yet another proof that the best ingredients form the foundation of good and honest cooking.
The service is smooth and straightforward. The wine list offers a wide range of French and international wines. Definitely try the house beer of the above-mentioned establishments: Principale, a blonde live triple. The cozy bar is a suggestion, as is the beautiful terrace when the weather allows in our Belgian lands.
Reservations are a must at Brasserie Pakhuis.
