The Osteria of Hasselt!
In the shopping streets of Hasselt, we find the refreshing concept of ‘Osteria Moretti’. During the day, it’s an Osteria offering breakfast, lunch, and an aperitif area with an Italian flair. Here, you can enjoy homemade Italian specialties such as fresh pasta and focaccia. In the afternoon, you can relax with a nice glass of wine, antipasti, or enjoy coffee and dessert at the Osteria. Tiana is the hostess and also the pastry chef, with experience from De Slagmolen and Gert De Mangeleer of Hertog Jan. Alexander works the open kitchen counter and honed his skills at Hof Van Cleve and Vrijmoed.
During dinner, Alexander and Tiana serve a bistronomic tasting menu of 4 or 5 courses for just €59 and €69. They combine the best of our local cuisine with Mediterranean influences. For example, Norwegian scallops with smoked eel and dashi, and langoustine paired with chickpeas and yuzu. The desserts are not to be missed, as Tiana shows off her expertise.
